Kaarakin: black cockatoo conservation centre
Kaarakin was founded in 2016. This organization is on all fronts of the battle to save black cockatoos from extinction. They not only rescue and rehabilitate injured black cockatoos but they also maintain a breeding program which releases young cockatoos back in the wild, and operates an education program about the plight of these birds.

San antonio zooThe San Antonio Zoo participates in Association of Zoo and Aquariums' Species Survival Program for the Palm Cockatoo. In 2017 they successfully hatched a palm cockatoo. This was the first successful hatching at a US zoo since 2014. The zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoo & Aquariums, Zoological Association of America, and is Humane Certified by American Humane.
